Our Treatment Center

Our program is a partial hospitalization program with a 12-step based program of recovery. We utilize many of the principles and practices of Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous programs to help introduce clients to these fellowships. While at our clinical building, clients have individual sessions with their assigned therapist, group therapy with a wide array of topics and facilitators, and any necessary medical treatment through visits with our medical director. When clients are not at clinical, they are at the gym, attending NA or AA meetings as a group, or participating in other recreational activities scheduled by our house manager. Clients are assisted in aftercare coordination with our case manager who finds them a halfway house or outpatient program which they like and fits their needs at discharge.

What is a Partial Hospitalization Program?
A Partial Hospitalization Program (or PHP) differs from both inpatient and outpatient programs. In PHP, clients live on a staffed property and travel to an office for clinical treatment. At our PHP, clients go to clinical every day, including weekends. The clinical facility houses our corporate office, therapists, case management, and group room. Housing is located a mile away and we provide transportation to and from the clinical office. Clients take daily trips to the gym and on weekends attend extra recreational activities, such as the beach, the movies, and kayaking.

What About IOP?
Intensive Outpatient (or IOP) is offered for a minimal time at our treatment center. This level of care is offered to a client when the clinical director and assigned therapist believe the client no longer needs a PHP level of care but the client has not yet found or discussed the best aftercare plan for them. IOP clients come to the center 3-5 days a week in the mornings for groups and continued individual sessions with their assigned therapist. In the afternoons the clients are responsible for job searching or working with a sponsor to create sober support or work the steps. They live at our housing property separate from the PHP clients. At this level of care, clients are allowed limited use of their phones, and, if approved, the vehicle they may own.

Tell Me More About the Clinical Program
Believe’s clinical program begins with our group therapy. Our groups are run by different staff members, all with time in recovery. Some topics covered in these groups include the 12 steps, relapse prevention, relationships, co-dependency, and character defects. Other groups focus on literature from Alcoholics Anonymous or Narcotics Anonymous, while some integrate movies and other film to give a message.

Our clinical staff makes time to meet with each client individually to work through issues which cannot be addressed in a group environment. Each client is assigned a licensed therapist for their stay, and, when recommended, our EMDR specialist will meet with them as well. We recognize there are underlying issues to drug use and we intend to work on those issues while at our facility.

Toward the end of a clients’ stay, they will meet with our case manager to discuss their options after they are discharged. Some individuals elect to return home while others desire to start their life over in the rich recovery atmosphere of South Florida. Either way, we provide clients options for their aftercare, whether it be through an IOP program, halfway house, or both. We understand that continuing care is vital to the success of our clients and make sure they have a plan set in stone for their return to society.
